How is professional teeth whitening performed?

At South Peek Dental Care, we offer both in-office and take-home whitening kits.

For in-office whitening, Dr. Nguyen, Foust, or Li will first clean your teeth to remove any surface debris. Then, a high-concentration whitening gel is applied to your teeth and activated by a special light or laser, breaking down stains and discoloration in about an hour.

For take-home kits, we provide custom-fitted trays and a professional-grade whitening gel. You’ll use the trays at home as directed, typically for a few hours each day or overnight, achieving results in a few weeks.

How long does teeth whitening last?

The results of professional teeth whitening can last from several months to up to a year, depending on your oral hygiene habits and lifestyle choices. To maintain your bright smile, it’s important to avoid foods and beverages that can stain your teeth, such as coffee, tea, and red wine.
