The Professional Side
Born in Houston, Texas, Dr. Nguyen and his family moved to California soon after his first birthday. Dr. Nguyen first developed his interest in dentistry when he volunteered at the San Diego Free Dental Clinics, assisting dentists who offer free dental care to the underserved. He was inspired by seeing the impact that the clinic’s dentists could have on their patient’s quality of life. Dr. Nguyen attended undergrad at the University of California, San Diego where he graduated with a degree in Biochemistry. From there, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts to attend dental school at the prestigious Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he obtained his doctorate. For further training in general dentistry, Dr. Nguyen then moved to North Carolina to complete a dental residency.
Dr. Nguyen is passionate about helping his patients and always looks for ways to improve their experience. Dr. Nguyen devotes much of his time to continuing education and learning new skills and technologies for that reason. After many years of working as an associate dentist at another practice, Dr. Nguyen decided it was time to start his own. He wanted to create an office that was modern, family-friendly, and low-stress. With his wife Cheng, who works with him as a dental hygenist, they hope to make that dream a reality for their patients.
The Personal Side
After Dr. Nguyen completed his education and general practice residency, he decided to move to New York where he worked for over 2 years. It was there that he met his wife, Cheng. Although they enjoyed the city they both realized that it was not where they wanted to raise a family and put down roots. Peter and Cheng decided that Texas, where Peter was born because it was both fast-growing and family-friendly was the best place to settle down.
In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys trying out new restaurants. He is a foodie and loves trying any food at least once. Dr. Nguyen and his wife also enjoy traveling whenever possible, going to different countries, and learning about their cultures.
